The Katić-Højstrup-Jensen wake model is a basic model to calculate the effect on the wind speed at a turbine from the farm upstream turbines: ε = 1-U_wake/U_upstream = sum_i(ε_i^2) with ε_i = (1-sqrt(1-C_T))/(1+2k(x_i/D))², where D is the diameter of the rotor, C_T is the thrust coefficient, k is the wake decay coefficient, and x_i is the distance parallel to the wind direction to the upstream turbine i.
